Meet the Farmers

Producing a Sustainable, healthier, tastier Product

All of our UK farmers are selected to meet certain quality standards to include, Red tractor, EBLEX and Freedom Food. We have a high regard for our farmers and their use of sustainable working practices, by supporting them we are increasing their awareness , this creates a link between farmers and farming communities, allowing us to deliver local to local consumers.

As a direct impact from competitively priced imported beef, UK Beef cattle has fallen to 9% over the last ten years. It is our intention to Promote UK Produce, giving our farmers a better deal where they will be more inclined to produce a regular yield, giving you the consumer a healthier and better quality product, in doing so the benefits are real and vast:

  • Imported produce suffers from poorer nutrition and flavour, by using local UK produce we are assured of the freshest ingredients, incorporating seasonality and a superior tasting product.
  • Produce is reared, selected and produced locally under sympathetic conditions, where consideration is given to animal welfare and good farming practices.

We have built good, solid relationships with all of our farmers, and recognise their expert abilities in rearing good quality livestock.

Beef Cattle and Lambs are naturally reared, they are free to roam on environmentally friendly sensitive meadows and lush green pastures, this environment plays a positive part in their development, giving a distinctive succulent flavour to the meat.

To avoid welfare problems during the winter months cattle are reared in well maintained sheds and fed on a good fibrous diet where water is plentiful and fresh.

Our Pig Farmers provide the highest welfare standards, where pigs are free to roam under free range conditions on sandy soiled grass, there is also access to large bedding huts with a dry straw bedding area. Theses pigs are left to explore and forage; allowing them to express their natural behaviour. Pigs are reared to meet Freedom Foods criteria and RSPCA welfare standards.

Turkeys are farmed by traditional valued methods; they are produced to the highest standards of food safety and animal welfare. Our Turkey Farms are members of the Traditional Farm Fresh Turkey Association (TFTA), giving you the confidence and assurance that these birds are produced to meet these quality welfare standards.  Free range bronze turkey is produced to very strict specifications.

It is a slow growing bird that retains all the original flavour of turkey when fed and processed in the traditional way. The name KellyBronze is synonymous with quality and is generally considered to be the ultimate Turkey.
